We have some information, picture, feature and detail about Volkswagen Amarok : Developed from scratch, Amarok will be released as a double-cab pickup with four-wheel drive, while the single-cab version will be introduced later. It will be powered by Volkswagen’s powerful yet efficient, common rail turbo diesel engine next generation that will achieve class leading fuel consumption and emissions. Volkswagen’s new pickup, was shown as a concept last year and which will be launched in Europe in 2010, is called Amarok. The new name means ‘wolf’ in the Inuit language, one of the Eskimos who live in northern Canada and Greenland, which is considered as the king of wolves and wilderness survival rate, durability and excellence.
Amarok is an important new model in the strategic growth plan for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and will be produced at the Pacheco plant in Argentina near Buenos Aires. This will be launched first in South America in early 2010, followed by Central America in the spring of 2010, then Russia and Europe in the summer, as well as Africa and Australia. Prices, specifications and on-sale date for the UK will be announced next year.
